Helpful information for space conversions are any special plumbing, electrical, egress or insulation issues. Attics, basements and garages will almost always have to have changes and/or additions to one or more of these important construction issues.
In remodeling general rooms this isn't as important although the changing or adding of any space with plumbing it is useful to know where the nearest other room containing plumbing is located so that your design can be easily translated to your contractor without a fight ... or save you money if you are doing the remodel yourself. Tying into the stack and existing plumbing is cheaper and most practical.
